Children on peace
Children at KHEL Charity were asked to write poems about peace. Below you can find the outcome of their beautiful work:
Peace is the only known solution to war. Peace means complete unity and patience throughout the nation. On a daily basis, we hear news about fights and quarrels in different parts of our country. To stop this, we need to maintain peace among ourselves. Fights between different religions and other communities can only be stopped by peace. Our national flag has white in it, which is itself a symbol of peace. We celebrate Republic Day and Independence Day, but we are still unable to understand that for a happy and healthy life, we need peace – peace in ourselves, our homes, neighbourhoods, and last but not the least, in our country.
In our national flag the colour white means peace. I think the meaning of peace is ‘stability of soul’. With peace, we can solve any problem. War does not bring us peace and isn’t a solution to anything. Instead of war we should try to maintain peace. A peaceful mind can even make our enemy our friend.
The issues of war and peace has been a focal issue in all periods of history and at all level in relations among nations. The concern of all of humankind for peace can be assessed by taking into account the fact that religious ceremonies are committed to the cause of peace and advocate an elimination of war. The Shanti Path recited by Hindus, the sermons of pope and the commands of all the holy scriptures of the Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs and all other communities hold out a sacred commitment to peace. The international community fully realized the supreme importance of the virtue of peace against the evil of war only after having suffered the most unfortunate and highly destructive two world wars in the first half of the 20th century. The blood soaked shreds of humanity that lay scattered in several hundred battle grounds, particularly on the soils of Hiroshima and Nagasaki cried for peace, peace and peace on the earth.
Peace is the solution to every fight and quarrel. Big problems can be solved by peace. It is necessary to maintain peace in the entire community. It is believed that the white colour in the national flag of India is a symbol of peace. All the people should live in love for peace in the entire community. Peace means keeping calm and having patience. The idea of a happy life without peace is worthless.
Peace and unity is very important to our society. It is impossible to maintain peace in our society while there is terrorism and difference of thoughts among each other. The meaning of peace is maintaining brotherhood and sisterhood and love between each other. Everybody should live lovingly and no one will have jealousy of others. The blood which flows in our veins is the same blood which flows in our enemies. It’s just that we all have a difference in thoughts. If we start believing that all living beings are the same and are united by peace, there will be no fighting or war kinds of situations. Terrorism is a major barrier in the world’s ability to have unity and peace. If we understand the unity of our society or country and all the religions our country will be united. And in this process the world will be united, and all the negative feelings will be replaced by brotherhood and sisterhood, and no power will be able to grow to divide or separate people.
