DEC 10th 2016 – Run for Aware
Who are Aware?
Aware is an Irish non-profit organisation which was founded in 1985. The organisation was set up in response to the clear need for information, understanding and support for individuals who have been diagnosed with either depression or a bipolar disorder in Ireland. The organisation also targets family members who support loved ones who suffer from either or both of the above diseases.

Aware Christmas Run 2016
The 2016 Aware Christmas Run was the 11th instalment of the run and has now transformed into much more than just a so-called run. It now has developed into and represents a platform for many people to stand up and show support for people who experience depression and show that it’s okay to open up and discuss their mental health.
This year two of the RippleZoo team (Rob and Kamila pictured) joined 2,500 people in taking part in the Aware Christmas Run. The event took place in Phoenix Park in Dublin last Saturday, December 10th and comprised of either a 5km run or a 10km run. The aim every year for the Christmas run is to raise funds for the organisation’s depression support, education and information services.
Last year’s Christmas run raised over €80,000 which helped maintain and develop Aware’s vital services which thousands of people across Ireland benefit from each year. The early signs from this year are that more has been raised.
Overall the event was incredibly well organised and we say well done to all involved and we are already looking forward to the run again next year!
